Diversity Committee Update
The Whittier Diversity Committee is one of the committees on the Whittier PTO. Each school in District 97 has a diversity committee that does varied events related to diversity and inclusion—ranging from lectures, providing educational sessions about resources, discussion groups on race and equity, and hosting inclusive playdates.
The Whittier Diversity Committee is for you and what you feel is important as it relates to diversity and inclusion. Please check us out, join, or volunteer. Email email@example.com.
Stay tuned for the next general meeting.

The Green Team is STILL seeking loyal regulars or occasional volunteers in the LUNCHROOM.
We have important work going on teaching young citizens the basics of composting and recycling. The year is off to a good start, but scholars need reminders to not put ketchup packets and sporks into the composting! And the cute Kindergartners still need help finding their milk and lunch cards. Schola and Madrigal Choirs Open Registration
Are you looking for a joyful, nurturing environment for your child to learn to sing and find their own voice? For twenty-five years, the Schola and Madrigal choirs of Grace Episcopal Church have offered young people a community where they receive high quality instruction singing secular and sacred music from around the world. The Schola Choir, for grades 2-8, meets on Wednesdays 3:30 PM to 5 PM or 4 PM to 5:30 PM, depending on experience level. The Madrigal Choir is a high school-age choir that meets on Sunday afternoons 1 PM to 2:30 PM. Together the two choirs learn the finest examples of music from the Renaissance and beyond, in a wide variety of languages and styles. Both choirs tour in the spring each year; past tour destinations have included Memphis, St. Louis, Detroit, Minneapolis, New York, and Boston. Rehearsals are starting now and registration is open. We’d love for your child and you to visit us for a trial rehearsal. The choirs are open to all young people who love to sing--religious affiliation is not a requirement. There is no tuition charge, however we do have an administrative fee, for which scholarships are available. Please visit our website at https://www.graceoakpark.org/youth-choirs-at-grace.html for more information.
You may view the Whittier Digital Backpack on the D97 Website at any time.
