Leadership Roles

These are key leadership positions that require a variety of voices to better reflect our community, and are the only voting roles within the PTO which means they help shape the direction of the PTO.

Co-President 2025-2026
This is one of the most impactful, demanding, yet highly rewarding roles in the PTO. You will coordinate communication and collaboration between the community and the administration/staff at Whittier, ensure funds are raised and distributed in an equitable and fair way toward PTO programming, and oversee and plan the calendar of activities to connect families and enrich student learning. In this role, you will help to guide the PTO in it's mission in a thoughtful and intentional way. The President(s) supports all areas of the PTO Board, attends PTOC (PTO District-wide meetings) once per month, runs PTO Board (virtual, monthly) and Community Meetings (in-person, bi-monthly). Expect to commit anywhere from 2-4 hrs/wk. Time commitment is ideally split between two co-presidents. You will walk away a champion for the kids, a voice for the community, with a sense of personal achievement and self-growth, and develop a network of meaningful connections through the people you meet and work with.
