Leadership Roles

These are key leadership positions that require a variety of voices to better reflect our community, and are the only voting roles within the PTO which means they help shape the direction of the PTO.

Co-President 2026-2027
This is an impactful and highly rewarding role in the PTO. You will oversee and coordinate all PTO areas of Engagement, Enrichment, Fundraising, Advocacy, DivCo, and Administrative Operations. This role bridges communication between school and community, connects families, and enriches student learning through opportunities and financial assistance. In this role, you will help to guide the PTO in it's mission in a thoughtful and intentional way. The President(s) supports all areas of the PTO Board, attends PTOC (PTO District-wide meetings) once per month, runs PTO Board (virtual, monthly) and Community Meetings (in-person, bi-monthly). Expect to commit anywhere from 2-6 hrs/wk. Time commitment is ideally split between two co-presidents. You will walk away a champion for the kids, a voice for the community, and develop a network of meaningful connections through the people you meet and work with.

Co-VP of Engagement
As part of our mission the Whittier PTO, the VP/co-VP(s) of Engagement, looks to further support students and families by connecting students, families and adults of Whittier with events and programs outside of school. As one of our more visible and impactful roles, the Engagement is best suited to an individual that likes to connect people, is interested in finding ways to connect kids and their interest and is excited to find ways to connect adults together to further their connection to the school. The Engagement lead is responsible for coordinating the back to school bash, the end of the year bash, monthly meetups and events. They will also support the engagement of our new Kindergarten families, attending events and creating ways for those families to connect to Whittier.
